After a little junior handling and sweepstakes competition,
Bethany was truly bitten by the ' Show Bug '. She enjoyed handling the Boxer, and showed natural flair for it.
It was suggested to her by a fellow boxer exhibitor that
she may enjoy showing a smaller dog, due to her own small stature.
Well off she set to find her OWN perfect '
showdog '.
She researched, emailed breeders, read books, articles and
devoured internet dog info. She was totally sold on the BASENJI within weeks of her search.
Under the careful guidance of Mrs Bev Reid of 'Taqsim
Basenjis' , and the encouragement of the Basenji Club of Victoria, Bethany made her decision. She saved her money, prepared
us ALL and soaked up every word Bev Reid emailed her for 12 months.
Until one day, THAT day...
I'm referring to a day when Bev emailed her and
said that one of the pup's had been set aside as Bethany's special show puppy.....The tears of joy did stop......eventually......
Off we went to Violet Town and picked up ' Taqsim
Fire In The Sky '. Fizzy, as she is more affectionatelly known has very quickly woven herself into our hearts and lives.
The Boxers think she is just amazing with her repoitoire
of sounds and playful disposition. A truly stunning girl, for which we can't thank Bev Reid enough.
We are quite sure that a Basenji is not quite the kind
of 'little dog' that the Boxer exhibitor had in mind when she made her suggestion, however it was a good suggestion which
brought about an excellent result..
Thanks again to Bev Reid of Taqsim Basenji's for entrusting
Fizzy into Bethany's care and devotion..
